New Editor to take Helm of Wives in Bloom
Ralene Burke, assistant editor of Wives in Bloom magazine, officially becomes editor-in-chief upon the resignation of Jocelyn Green this month. Green, the founding editor of Wives in Bloom since summer of 2010, is stepping back to devote more time to writing books and keeping up her own online ministry at FaithDeployed.com.
Along with contributing writers, Green is the author of Faith Deployed: Daily Encouragement for Military Wives and its sequel, Faith Deployed…Again–which features the writing of Christian Military Wives leaders Patti Katter and Claire Shackelford. Green is also co-author of Stories of Faith and Courage from the War in Iraq & Afghanistan and Stories of Faith and Courage from the Home Front (to be released this April), which features the stories of several Wives in Bloom contributors.
“Working with Christian Military Wives on the Wives in Bloom magazine has enriched my life both personally and professionally,” says Green. “As I move into the next season of my writing career, which includes historical fiction featuring heroines on the home front, I have every confidence that Ralene Burke is the right woman to be at the helm of Wives in Bloom.” Green’s first novel, Wedded to War, is a Civil War historical which will release in July 2012.
Burke is a devoted Army wife, a homeschooling mother of three, an aspiring author, and a lover of Jesus. Get to know her better at her Web site here, and tell her congratulations on her well-deserved promotion to editor in chief of Wives in Bloom!
