Wives in Bloom is Seeking…

Submitted by on March 30, 2012 – 12:01 amNo Comment

Wives in Bloom has been extremely blessed over the last year. We have seen our magazine expand and grow to encourage and inspire many military wives. With growth comes opportunity. And we have an opportunity for you!

ARTICLES

If you have found Wives in Bloom to be a blessing in your life, consider contributing your own unique angle. Wives in Bloom is looking for all types of articles for all categories. If you have something to share, we want to see it!

We are particularly looking for book reviews, recipes, and properly-developed devotions, but are always interested in a good headline story or interview.

Please check out our Writer’s Guidelines to make sure your article fits our scope. Then send it via attachment to raleneburke [at] yahoo [dot] com for review.

COLUMNS

We are also looking to recruit a few columnists, who will have scheduled spots once a month. Two specific columns we are seeking writers for:

Plan, Prepare, PCS—We need someone familiar enough with PCSing to offer advice on surviving the before, after, and throughout. Articles would offer help in planning, preparing, services available, tips and tricks…anything to do with PCSing!

A Is For…—We are looking for someone funny and quick-witted to write a series of 26 columns on common military lingo. Even wives who have been in for years sometimes stumble across an acronym or abbreviation they haven’t heard before. It’ll be our own little dictionary!

If you are interested in these or have an idea of your own, please submit any ideas or interest to raleneburke [at] yahoo [dot] com.

ASSISTANT EDITOR

Last of all, WIB is looking for an Assistant Editor. This person should be familiar with grammar rules, style guidelines, and have a good eye for catching typos. Duties include scheduling and finding photos (as needed) for all articles, editing and posting the monthly columns, and helping to respond to emails from potential writers. If this voluntary position sounds like something you would be interested in, again, please email raleneburke [at] yahoo [dot] com.

We look forward to working with you all!
