Dear daughter-in-law
As a mom with a son deployed, i do know how your mother-in law feels.
Alot of times I don't share with my daughter-in-law what I am experiencing. You may ask me why?
Because my job is to encourage her--uplift her on her down days and let her know that someone is here to hold her up when she can;t do it on her own. she has been pretty ill since son left.
I don't tell her the nights I have been walking the floors and praying-because after a few hrs of sleep--an inner feeling woke me up. I don't share with her the days that I can't get anything done because I don't have any motivation,or energy for heavy cleaning,or the gardening. I don't tell her that I need a push to get through the bad days. I do have other moms that help me with these things, they keep me up-and going.
Maybe your mother-in law is worried sick, and doesn't have a support group-or prayer group to help her through this. maybe she doesn't know what to do.
I send messages everyday to daughter in law/ how is your day going--what is new. she is involved in alot of things so it's easy to pick something to discuss everyday. now I am not telling you that she and I never talk about the deployment. we do--and we both are very sensitive to the needs of the other.
I will be praying for your mother-in law honey. It sounds like she is just trying to find her way through this--like so many of us moms.
good luck to you and your husband/ we are praying for him too.
and thank you both for your service!
