Writer’s Guidelines
Currently we are in the process of moving our site!! We will be looking for articles that are testimonials in nature concerning faith and motherhood, marriage, or the military lifestyle, articles that are teaching about the Bible or military, and devotions.
Because Wives in Bloom is a publication of Christian Military Wives, we ask that all writers are members of Christian Military Wives, or at least of the parent organization, Christian Military Fellowship, with rare exception. To join CMW, simply go to www.christianmilitarywives.com and click the button that says “Join CMW Now.”
Please keep your articles between 500 and 850 words. We value articles that offer positive encouragement to military wives with an emphasis on trusting God through the good times and the bad.
These are the types of articles we are seeking to post each week:
• Devotional
• How-to
• Book and movie reviews (reviews related to the monthly themes are preferred, as well as reviews on books just for military wives)
• Interview with an inspirational military wife
• First-person story
• Feature story
• Opinion/column
• Recipes

Where to submit articles:
Articles not related to these themes will also be considered, but theme-related is always preferable. Articles should be submitted as Word documents to info@cmwives.org or editor.CMW@gmail.com. Please write “Wives in Bloom submission” in the subject line.
Compensation:
Wives in Bloom relies on volunteer freelance submissions. While articles are unpaid at this time, you may include your photo, and a one-to-three-sentence bio, including a link to your Web site if you have one. By writing for Wives in Bloom, you will be ministering to countless military wives (both Christian and seeking) and will be building your own ministry/writing platform as well.
Rights to the writing:
While we accept reprints on a rare case-by-case basis, we prefer to post original work as opposed to something that you’ve already posted on your own blog, another blog/Web site or Facebook. You can post a teaser on your blog with a link to the full piece at Wives in Bloom. After 30 days, you may post the entire piece on your own blog, but we’ll still keep it on Wives in Bloom indefinitely.
Become a regular contributor:
Any CMW member may submit articles at any time to be considered for posting. Those who submit (and are published at Wives in Bloom) at least once a month will be considered a regular contributor, and will have their names, photos and bios posted on a special page on the Web site. Regular contributors will also be given a blog button which says “I write for Wives in Bloom” to be used on their own personal blogs and Web sites.
